His mother Begum Khurshid Shahid was also a well-known Pakistani TV artist while his father Salim Shahid created programs for BBC London. Both films have run the international festival circuit. He played the principal protagonist in ‘ Kabul Express’ and a major support in ‘ Ishqiya’. More recently, Salman has acted in films in India.
